Luxury glass villa in Los Angeles

This house was designed for a steep lot overlooking the ocean. While technically a remodel there is nothing left but a vague memory of a couple of the walls of the original house. The previous house was boxy and did not take account of the spectacular views of the beach below. The curves allow the house to take full advantage of the views. The body of the house is almost completely glass with the structural elements exposed. The various floor levels reflect out desire to achieve more generous heights, the structure being limited to the height of the previous house.

The house and parking area are separated by a strip of land 3'-0" wide and 70'-0" long. Originally it seemed like one entered the house through a neighbor's yard. The solution was to build a two story entry and parking garage, complete with car elevator and a tunnel connecting to the house.
