From the architect: The pavilion is a place which holds many other places within it, which provides a shelter in the shade where each person can sit down to observe, read, have a chat or just have a rest.
The pavilion is a sum of spaces whose conical shape has a lot to do with a specific and efficient bioclimatic concept which enables the thermal sensation of the public square to decrease considerably. Thanks to it being built with light materials such as wood, iron and fabric, it encourages the further reuse of the vast majority of the building.
The semi-open access areas located on the ground floor function like small urban squares, like places where to spend time, where the catering services and the shops become one with the exterior. The space which is meant to hold the exhibitions is designed as a buried technical box, taking advantage of both the thermal and acoustic insulation that being underground provides it with. Both spaces, the open public square and the exhibition area, are connected via a large inclined space where waiting becomes part of the entertainment.
