The PI Penthouse is a luxury apartment in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil which was fully remodeled by Paula Martins for a family with two adolescents.
From the architects: The windows face Guanabara’s Bay with an astonishing view of Rio de Janeiro and both the Sugarloaf and Christ the Redeemer. Most of the original walls were demolished and the areas were rearranged in order to create open spaces and also to integrate each bathroom to its bedroom. The very dark interior and heavy atmosphere was replaced by lots of light and open spaces. The façades and roofs were insulated and all the outside walls were covered with tiles to avoid constant maintain.
