The luxury hotel market in São Paulo had no new releases since 2002, and it was, until then, dominated by Brazilian brands. In 2018, Four Seasons started to change this market, bringing the “Hotel & Residences” trend to the city, where, in addition to guest suites, they also provide residential apartments, called “Private Residences”. The hotel's architectural design was developed by Brazilian firm Aflalo/Gasperini Arquitetos, in partnership with American firm HKS Architects.
Aflalo/Gasperini was also chosen by Marriot International Inc. to design W São Paulo, the first unit in Brazil, to be located in the Vila Olímpia neighborhood, also bringing the concept of branded residence and the hotel's hospitality. With opening planned for 2023, there will be 179 luxury suites, as well as WOW Suites and Extreme WOW Suite; two restaurants, one of which with stunning views on the top floor; infinity pool; fitness center; living room and a meeting center.
In addition to developing projects for international brands, the firm has been selected to design Fasano's second unit in São Paulo, Hotel e Residências Fasano Itaim. A unique development in the Itaim neighborhood, with Fasano's service excellence and an exclusive architectural design in partnership with Even Construtora e Incorporadora. There will be one tower block with 34 floors, with 285 m2 residential units, with Fasano's services and cuisine available at home.
“Participating in these three luxury hotel projects was an enriching challenge, that brought us a lot of experience. For each design, we proposed an architecture that is much more connected to the brand, both for the building itself and the interiors. As designs that are opened to the public, the integration between the building and the street and neighborhood is much more inviting, urban and pleasant. Not to mention they also represent a new market trend, with residential apartments integrated with a hospitality brand”, said Grazzieli Gomes Rocha, directing partner at Aflalo/Gasperini.
Aflalo/Gasperini Arquitetos is a firm renowned as one of the greatest in Brazil. They are responsible for architectural landmarks including IBM's headquarters, the Rochaverá Complex and the Court of Accounts, in São Paulo; Theater Claudio Santoro, in Campos do Jordão; the Ventura Towers, in Rio de Janeiro, and the Peugeot Building in Buenos Aires. Its purpose is to create architecture that converses with the city and with people, and they bring to their designs their concern with the environment, people's quality of life, and mobility.
