Refurbishment of 2 story house by GEM Architects

This two story house was refurbished by GEM Architects to create a cozy modern house for a family of four in a tranquil suburb of Athens.

According to the architects: The living spaces such us the salon, the open kitchen and the dinning room organize the ground floor. The design relocates the entrance in the middle of the unified space with views to the gardens on both sides. The space flows keeping visual connections to the front court with the swimming pool and to the back garden with the exterior dining table.  The family’s bedrooms and bathrooms are on the first floor. The guest room and office space up on the attique. The playroom, home-cinema space and secondary uses are placed on the basement. Warm grey mat vinished wood is used extensively in the interior spaces along with cement surfaces and tiles. Mocca and warm grey color palette is chosen for the furniture.
