From the architect: The new building features areas to host and entertain, meeting and negotiation rooms, state-of-the-art wellness facilities, and twelve private whole-floor units.
David Summerfield, Head of Studio, Foster + Partners, said: “The holistic design achieves the highest standards of wellbeing, with naturally ventilated spaces, direct access to sheltered outdoor areas, and outstanding facilities for owners and their guests. The building will be a private oasis for business in the heart of the city.”
The 14-storey building is located on a prominent corner plot of Seoul’s Dosan-daero Road. Arrival is via a discreet entrance on a quiet side street. A gated drop-off zone underneath the building flows into the ground floor lobby with direct lifts to the private units or to an elegant arts lounge and bar on the second floor. Vehicle lifts to the basement parking level are concealed behind screens and immersive landscape to enhance the intimate arrival sequence.
The twelve whole-floor units feature personalised spaces for working and entertaining, as well as private rooms for relaxation. Every unit has a personal vault and access to a luxury lounge area, where owners can view and display their belongings to guests in a secure setting. The vaults also include private dining rooms, bars, and a wine cellar to create a highly immersive experience. The wellness level on the floor below offers a spa, pool, and luxury treatment areas.
The arts lounge and bar, vaults, and wellness level are divided into a series of separate spaces to guarantee complete privacy for all owners and their guests. A lightwell on northern side of the building draws natural light down into the vaults and pool, which are located below ground.
The building’s street-facing façade is broken down into a series of bay windows with a range of private green balconies and winter gardens that offer direct connections with the outdoors and provide natural ventilation. The spectacular penthouse unit has direct access to a private roof terrace for relaxing and entertaining with views across the city.
Ben Scott, Senior Partner, Foster + Partners, added: “Our design responds to the needs of those doing business at the very highest level. The building straddles the typologies of office, home, and a private members’ club – providing a new type of bespoke experience for every owner.”
