KVS House is a modern house in Buenos Aires, Argentina which includes areas for meetings and outdoor activities. The house was designed by Estudio Galera Arquitectura.
From the architects: The program focused on two uncorrelated stacked boxes, balancing each other on a half-buried stone plinth. The program took just under twelve percent of the lot, leaving enough space for the swimming pool and a green dune. The entrance to the house, the service area and the playroom are located in the half-buried plinth with a direct connection to the outside. Upstairs, overhanging over the building site, there is the social area, which is a concrete box open at its lengths and supported on its ends. There is a forest at the front and a garden which dissolves into acacias trees at the back. The kitchen, the dining room and the living room extend into the deck, the swimming pool and the garden. An interior-exterior volume contains the service and barbecue areas, the machine room and a toilet. This wedge-shaped volume protects the barbecue area and exterior social area from the southern winds. A wooden pergola contains the space and offers protection from the sun. The upper floor contains three bedrooms, two bathrooms and offer views of the forest.
