From the architect: Located next to one of the 6 doors of the emblematic Jardim da Estrela, this building was designed and recreated from a property in total ruin, maintaining, nevertheless, the initial major characteristics of the facade. It became possible, to mantain the facade and redefine a “new” building, consisting of three duplex apartments that working in “tetris” between them.
This willingness guided the transformation of this completely renovated building. Its in an urban environment filled with gardens, belonging to the surrounding buildings and the referred to Jardim da Estrela. The ringing of the bell of the Basilica of Estrela is confused, often with the chirping of the birds, the children’s laughter and the sound of the wind that gnaws on the branches of the many secular trees out there.
The interiors of the apartments were designed in such a way as to gain other forms of living, as if houses if they were, with all the comfort and atmosphere of “home”.
The selection of used materials fell to national creations. From woods to natural stones, passing through equipment, everything was produced or modified from Portuguese products. In the end, this project resulted very satisfactorily in the search to clarify Lisbon in one language: makes it an exceptional place to live and visit.
