Designed by Alberto Rubio. The Bird House is an extraordinary villa which is inspired by a bird on the edge of a cliff starting to fly to make the home beautiful and in harmony with the magnificence of Mallorca, Spain.
Follow the architects: The process begins with a sketch informed by the limitations and the budget. After this I follow my dreams within those limitations. The materials we work with have to be strong enough to withstand the harsh sea climate. The climate leads to important design details like not leaving any window without shade. Mallorca can get very hot in the summer. I have to provide protection from this within the architecture. You have to be able to look at the sunset without getting burned by the sun.
