Pininfarina is honored to announce that Sixty6 has been awarded with the 2020 International Architecture Award. The residential tower will rise in Limassol, Cyprus, and will be developed by Singularis, one of the most prominent local property investment companies.
The International Architecture Awards represent the world’s oldest and largest global awards program. Held by the Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design in conjunction with The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies, the Awards are regarded as globally significant mark of excellence in architecture.
Sixty6 Tower by Pininfarina left no doubt in the jury’s mind, who were composed of prestigious architects, critics, and architecture academics, who selected the project among over 400 submissions from 38 different countries.
Sixty6 was designed in the image and likeness of Cyprus. The building is a 17-floor residential tower inspired by the layering of sandstone cliffs, typical of Cyprus coasts, and by the history of the island, rich and unique thanks to the stratification of different cultures. The elliptical shape of the building allows the sea view from all the apartments enhanced by the external glass walls allowing the sky and the sea to enter the apartments. The spacious balconies, beyond permitting one to enjoy the extraordinary Cyprus climate, represent both an aesthetic element giving personality to the project and a functional one as they control solar radiation. The unique nature of the exteriors is matched by the refinement of the interiors. The building hosts four types of floors with apartments of different sizes and luxurious penthouses enriched by gardens. The experience is completed by a gym and a spa with an external swimming pool.
Sixty6 by Pininfarina has been designed to live by the sea seamlessly, the goal was to conceive a new way to experience and enjoy sea-side life through architecture and new technologies.
